XHTML/CSS/SEO Website template design.
Std. 2 column, left navigation.
You're viewing a valid xhtml/css website template designed with search engine optimization (seo) in mind. What does that mean? Well, it means that when you learn what the search engine spiders look at and how they rank websites based on that information - this is a pretty solid foundation. We'd suggest getting your own logo at the very least.
The best part. It's free!
The only catch is this; in the footer is a small link back to one of our sites. It would be a small request on our part to leave this link in your footer once you get your site up. It will say something like "Premier Web Design Company". Keeping this in your footer will help promote our sites and helps us provide free xhtml/css/seo web templates to the community. We will also throw in some support if you need it! [putting your logo in, color changes etc.]
If you would prefer to remove the backlink, we totally understand. We can arrange a modest paypal fee and we both win. Likewise if you would like something custom done for your website, we can handle that in the same way.
Some of the many benefits of a CSS based design.
This varies with every designer you talk to. Here are some obvious ones. A CSS based layout can make sitewide changes easier. A CSS based layout tends to have leaner code which means faster page downloads and a more crawlable site. A CSS based layout gives you the ability to re-order page content easily and get the important stuff up top.
The CSS and XHTML files are commented. It's not perfect but if this is new to you it will be of some benefit. If you've been around a while or are familiar with css and html and how it all fits together feel free to remove the comments and make whatever changes you see fit.
- HTML comments = <!-- comment here -->
- CSS comments = /*comment here*/
There really is a lot you can do with this design. CSS is very powerful and you will see this for yourself as you play, have fun and learn. Please email us once your site is live, we'd like to see your final tweaks. We will be working on a right hand navigation layout as well as a three column layout. In addition some wider designs, 800x600 is finally dying ;-).
